After your pick-up by your private driver/guide in Vienna, head to Lower Austria, to one of the country’s premier wine regions.
The UNESCO World Heritage Site, only an hour’s drive away from the Austrian capital, attracts nature lovers and wine connoisseurs from all over the planet.
Make the first stop in the fairy-tale town of Dürnstein on the majestic Danube river and let your guide show you some of the highlights of the town. Stroll around later the narrow cobble stoned medieval streets or ascend the hill to the romantic ruin of Dürnstein Castle, famous for the legend of the English King Richard the Lionheart, and enjoy a breathtaking view.
Continue your journey directly to a winery and take pleasure in a guided tour through a vineyard by a local winegrower. Taste the full-bodied, pepper-tinged Grüner Veltliner, the rich and steely Riesling or some other of the most exquisite Austrian wines.
With the end of the vine tasting, visit the town of Melk with a vast Benedictine monastery built high above the town. Walk around the old town or up to the Abbey gardens.
At the end of your visit to the Wachau Valley, relax, sit back and enjoy the worry-free transfer in the minivan back to Vienna. The trip concludes with a drop off at your hotel or private apartment.
Duration of the trip: 6 hours
Tour starts from: Your hotel or private apartment in Vienna
Additional tour time is available for €85.00 per hour.
